20 Stylish Recliner Chairs in the Bedroom

The thing about recliner chairs is that you can get too comfortable on it while reading or watching TV that is why recliner chairs are usually added in the design scheme for a living room or a bedroom because it is the best locations where people can relax and do recreational activities. Some recliner chairs even are massage chairs too!

How can you beat that?

Well, here are some examples of bedrooms where the client preferred a recliner chair than a regular comfy chair or a bean bag. Don’t you just love the barn door of this bedroom? For a rather contemporary bedroom, I think adding this barn door is just exceptional! If you may have noticed, the furniture and lines seen in this bedroom is sleek and the barn door just gives this space a rather special feeling.

I like how this space looks clean because of the materials and lines used in it. Nothing too harsh for the eyes to look at and has clean and sophisticated lines that made this space contemporary and comfortable plus the view of the outdoors is just splendid!

3. Italian Mediterranean Villa in Dallas

The recliner chairs you see in this bedroom are a regular mid-century design you see in stores. The color of the chairs matches the color of the bed and the side table seen in this photo. The theme is very earthy and natural and like most photos on this list, it is more functional than decorative.

The simple recliner and footrest in this bedroom look like something your dad has in his office. I like black colored chairs, but for accent chairs in the bedrooms, I think it would be prettier if it was is another shade or color.

From the name of this project, you can see that the mid-century part of this bedroom is the recliner chair and the new century is basically the other furniture that is more contemporary than the chair. This combination is pretty awesome because it’s like you are mixing two beautiful flowers to make a perfect bouquet.

This bedroom was staged to sell the furniture seen in this photo and I think that this is one good inspiration if you are into redecorating your bedrooms. The color combination of the neutrals used in this space is just wonderful, comfortable and homey!

The recliner chair by the window is so comfy and this space could pass for a hotel room because of its interior arrangement and that view outdoors. I personally like the choice of materials used in this space and I think anyone who would see this would like it too.

I like how there are two recliner chairs added to this bedroom because it sure means that a couple is using this bedroom and both of them can use the recliner chairs at the same time. The view of the outdoors is a plus point for this desert modern home!

It is very seldom that I see staged bedrooms without headboards because it sure is a great way to showcase a beautiful bed if it has a stunning or interesting headboard – but then again, this bedroom already looks interesting without it and the addition of a painting above the bed somehow makes up for it.

This is a heavenly looking bedroom! The furniture choice is stunning and the materials used for the ceiling, carpet, and walls are just interesting and quite modern! Totally loving this master bedroom from Shubin Donaldson designs.

A bit Bohemian, a bit rustic and a bit mid-century – this is one bedroom anyone who loves to read and loves to stay indoors. The cozy look and feel of this bedroom might be my favorite on this list today! I personally love the pieces of furniture and decor added to this space – it’s just so pretty!

Don’t you just love the dome in this Eyebrow house bedroom? Industrial-themed homes are one of the favorites of designers and young people – it’s artsy, a bit modern and totally interesting. 13. 40 Braewood

This large bedroom has a beautiful view thanks to the landscape that this home has. The designer made sure that this landscape would be visible from the bedroom that is why they made sure to add a wall of glass for their window. By the window, a recliner chair was added for times when you want to just sit back and relax.

Another mid-century recliner in the lovely Seindenberg house. Its design looks like something you should add to an office but because of all the wood used in this bedroom, this chair just blends right in.

This lake house is one stunning home to be in – just look at this bedroom and tell me that you don’t want to sleep in this bedroom! The space is just right for all the things you need inside a bedroom – comfy furniture, a bathroom and maybe even a lavatory outside the bathroom!

This is one fancy bedroom to be in! A penthouse with all the luxury and glamour a home could have. The fur completed the luxury look of this bedroom aside from the astounding view of the sky and the other buildings outside,

The look of this bedroom is a bit similar to traditionally designed homes that have a feel of their native land has – like adding quilts, painting or pictures that remind you of your culture and even going for the warm colors the color wheel has to offer.

The color of the reclining chair contrasts with the color of the walls, flooring and the ceiling which makes it stand out from the entire room. What’s great about this chair is that it serves as a conversation piece for this space and I think people would love it!

To end this list is a bedroom from MCYIA Interiors. This might be the only room in this list with the most color in it – bright ones at least. The painting on the wall looks really nice and modern, and the color choice for the bedding is just nice and fun! The recliner chair on the side complement well with the entire room.

If you have similar bedroom designs as the ones you just saw or plan in making something similar to them, this list would be an inspiration to work with. English Farmhouse Home

 

The clients of The Fox Group – a well-known building company from Utah – wanted a white farmhouse that would fit in with their very traditional neighborhood which is filled with English Tudors and gorgeous traditional and colonial homes from the 1930’s. They designed the house to fit both their needs and to also fit the style of the neighborhood. Crisp yet timeless interiors are completed with a home that features a wrap-around porch and plenty of curb appeal.

The builder, Tom Fox, spent countless hours redoing the scale and pitch of the roof and especially the dormers until it was the perfect scale. They look incredible, don’t they?!

The roof is an asphalt – architectural style.

The rain gutters are copper.

Details

The exterior of the home is done is Artisan Hardie Boards in an 8 inch width plank. The windows are custom Pella.

Flooring

The flooring in the home is White Oak select grade in a natural matte Bona finish. Most of the main floor was done in a herringbone pattern with 2 1/4 inch plank.

Hardware is by Emtek. This is a very popular hardware and often recommended by interior designers.

The countertops are Super White Quartzite – this stone is very durable and truly beautiful.

The geometric pendant is Visual Comfort Kelly Wearstler Large Cubist Gild Pendant Ceiling Light.

Turquoise Laundry Room Cabinet Paint Color

 

Are you looking to renovate your tired laundry room? This laundry room with turquoise cabinets should inspire you! Take notes on all of the details shared by the Canadian interior designer, Cynthia Soda from Soda Pop Design Inc.:

“Our clients had a very outdated laundry room space (think pink grout and dark green 4 x 4 tiles as a countertop…!) The window above the countertop actually used to be a door that we converted into a window so we could make more efficient use of the space (put the washer and dryer side by side and run the counter across). 

The room lacked function and style.  The whole house has rooms stuck in the 80s and 90s and the homeowners are more eclectic/retro/cool so we wanted to reflect that in the space that they tend to spend a lot of their time in (whether we like it or not!).  We went with a retro vibe with the pillow style of cabinetry and wanted to play with unexpected colors and metals to keep it current.  They have two small dogs who sleep in the laundry room so we needed to make sure we incorporated space for them to hang out ;).  Since it is a space in which function is the #1 priority we made sure we chose dark grout to not show dirt/stains, enough cabinet space to store the ironing board, a hanging rod to dry the delicates, etc.  It was a fun project to work on.  Our clients just let us go nuts and it turned out amazing!  We (and out clients) couldn’t be happier with it.”

 

Adding a frosted glass door to a laundry room is always a smart idea; especially for those busy week days where piles of laundry is being done. The door keeps the noise contained and any mess out of sight.

Creating a Dream Laundry Room

This dream laundry room features black and white hex cement floor tiles and a silver front loading washer and dryer enclosed beneath a white quartz countertop. The laundry room walls are paneled with horizontal shiplap.

Little Pups

Good designers take everyone in consideration when designing a space, including pets! These adorable dogs always loved sleeping in the laundry room, so designing a built-in bed for them was just natural.

Recently built by Stritt Design and Construction, this Australian coastal farmhouse features some truly inspiring design ideas, which includes black exterior siding with white trim and an open layout that is perfect for family life.

The Living/Dining Room feature a cathedral ceiling with 3.5m walls that go up to a height of 5.5m in the center. The ceiling is lined with individual V-Joint lining boards. The large exposed hardwood timber beams were reclaimed timbers from an old bridge. These form the structural component of the ceiling.

Back Porch

The living room opens to a back porch with outdoor kitchen.

Outdoor BBQ Kitchen: Scyon Axon 133mm smooth non combustible vertical sheets. Countertop is Caesarstone ‘Fresh Concrete’.

Fireplace

Stone Fireplace Details: Large reclaimed sandstone blocks were used on the fireplace. These were salvaged from the previous home that was demolished. A large recycled timber piece was used for the mantel.

I am loving the color of these cabinets and this long countertop. It’s perfect to fold laundry! Cabinet paint color is Porters Paints Napoleon.

Lake Cottage Inspiration

 

The owners of this lake-front home loved the location of their original house on this property, but it proved to be beyond repair. They wanted to build a new home with a casual ‘lake-home’ feel, one that took full advantage of the Lake Minnetonka views yet allowed for privacy on this narrow city lot. They also wanted the new house to fit into the scale and character of their neighborhood.

Using historic Excelsior shingle-style lake houses as precedent, TEA2 Architects created a modest 1-1/2 story gabled form with low eaves and upper level rooms that are fully within the roof.  Cross-gables were thoughtfully massed to define a west side-yard entry that also forms an exterior garden ‘room’. Gathering spaces are located toward the lake-side end of the home, with an open Living Suite (Living, Dining, Kitchen, Porch and Terrace) on the Main Level and the Master Suite overlooking the lake from above. The exterior uses stained cedar wall and roof shingles and copper and stone details to convey a timeless character similar to nearby historic homes.  The result is unique yet familiar.

To the Lake!

The entry procession from street to house invites visitors to the lake beyond.  This call to enjoy the lake also inspired the form of the house. The linear plan was pushed to the east, allowing the entry path along the west a visual corridor out to the lake. The garage has been rotated to the east as well, with doors out of direct view from the street. Passing through the entry pergola, the procession through the side-yard garden and to the formal entry ends inside, where the sweeping lake view unfolds.

Front Door

The oversize three-inch Douglas fir door is timeless and it truly makes a statement.

Entry Door: Custom, CVG Douglas Fir, Marvin doug fir wood windows with ‘Waterglass’ obscure glazing.

Entry paneled wall: V-groove T&G boards, CVG Cedar. Natural finish: Australian Timber Oil

Exterior lighting: Brass Light Gallery ‘Stone Haven’, Verdigris patina – similar here.

Arranging for Light

Great care was taken in crafting the lake views – arranging the rooms and large windows for optimal view, yet also adding strategically placed translucent (stained & clear) glass and tall hedges to screen out views of nearby neighbors. The west side garden space also allows more sunlight to enter, avoiding most late-day shadows from the neighboring house.

Open interior spaces with white millwork and white oak with a natural finish flow together – a modern experience in a home crafted to feel timeless and casual. The use of natural materials and asymmetrical cabinetry details create a comfortable informality that the owners desired.

Isn’t this cozy breakfast nook so inviting? I love the windows and the custom banquettes with drawers on the sides.

Kitchen Design

Ovens and freezer drawers were placed in the pantry, freeing up space for storage under the cooktop and reducing the need for confining kitchen walls. The variety of cabinet/counter finishes and asymmetrical lines contributes to a friendly informality.

Appliances: Subzero,Wolf and Miele dishwasher.

Backsplash & Countertop

Countertops: Virginia Mist Granite.

Living Room

In a more formal room, the fireplace wall likely would have been symmetrical. To create an informal cottage feel, the architect offset the bluestone fireplace and paired it with a concealed TV and different cabinets to either side. Still, everything feels carefully designed and well balanced.

Subtle nods to the nautical are found throughout the home — including in this leaded-glass window wall. The art glass both screens a neighbor ’s house from view and glows in afternoon light.

Chandelier Visual Comfort.

Stairway

A sculptural stair at the Guest Entry rises to another view of the lake and the western sunset. The upstairs halls and bedrooms feature carefully integrated sloping ceilings, dormers and beadboard – details that brought back the owners fond memories of ‘gramma’s attic’.

Master Bedroom

The homeowner liked the idea of irregular ceilings, reminiscent of grandmother ’s attic. Recessed bookshelves flank a fireplace to create a cozy reading area. Deep window boxes add a pop of color.

Architectural Details

When the garden is fully grown, the path will feel like a lush invitation to home and lake. Deep eaves, cedar clear-finished soffits, and details like the rain chain suggest a subtle Asian influence.

Hello, everyone! How great is it to start a brand new week?! Today is here to be taken! Let’s start it by getting inspired by yet another gorgeous home on our “Beautiful Homes of Instagram” series.

Andrea, from @lifeoncedarlane (someone you should be following if you’re on Instagram), and I have waited for months for this feature. This series, thanks to all of you, is very popular and I have a waiting list that gets complete very fast and I really couldn’t wait to feature Andrea’s home with you. As you will see here, her home is beyond beautiful and it has a serene feel to it that seems to make you feel calmer. I also love the floor plan, which is perfect for a young family.

Hi everyone! My name is Andrea of @lifeoncedarlane. I am so excited to be here and so very grateful Luciane asked me to contribute to this amazing series. I am blown away daily by the beautiful homes that she shares through Home Bunch, and the fact she thought mine was worth sharing is truly such an honor! I gathered so much inspiration for my new home on sites such as HomeBunch, and loved there were so many out there willing to share their creative process. I started this account hoping to do the same, and absolutely love sharing and answering questions about our building experience!

My husband Ryan and I both grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, met in college, lived in the city for a few years before heading back to the burbs to start our family. We built our first home before our first child was born. It was a beautiful home and while we enjoyed the design process, looking back I don’t think I knew exactly what my style was or what things were most important in what would eventually be our family home. We often talked about doing it again, what we would change or do differently the next time around.   

Fast forward 5 years and 3 kids later, one day I happened to check the MLS with the need for change on my mind.  A tear down lot popped up in our current neighborhood that had been just listed the day before. It felt like fate, and we immediately drove over to check it out. I remember walking into the backyard and I had one of those aha moments, the sun was shining down on us, and I had a vision of our dream house, the house our kids would grow up in and where we would build a lifetime of memories. It just felt so right, we put an offer on the lot that day! A few months later we found out we were pregnant with our 4th, so the new completion goal was to be in before his due date!

I went to work on planning. I found a floor plan online and tweaked it where needed to make it exactly what we wanted for our family. My main design goal for this house was keep it light and bright. Lots of white, which I know sounds crazy with four little kids running around, but I have found sometimes the lighter the finish the easier it is to keep clean. I love neutral classic styling paired with beautiful colors picked up in rugs, pillows, and accessories. I also love the combo of wood and white, adding in lots of pretty texture where possible and mixing metals. There is so much I love about our new home, but truly the best parts are the people I share it with. So ultimately I wanted our home to feel comfortable and inviting, a place where my kids would always love coming home to.

I knew I wanted a light grey house with white trim, but we all know how challenging it can be to find the perfect grey. I was so nervous pulling the trigger on this decision but I absolutely love it. The exteiror paint color is Benjamin Moore Smoke Embers and white trim is Benjamin Moore Simply White.

The front door is a custom stain, and I love all the morning light we get through the windows. On either side of the foyer is our dining room and my husband’s office. I get a ton of questions about our floor color. We wanted something light, as our previous home had very dark floors. Unfortunately we do not have the exact formula, but it is a mix of Minwax Classic Gray & Country White applied to white oak flooring.

Opposite the dining room are french doors that lead to my husband’s office. He often works from home and really wanted a place to shut the doors and take a call, without having to worry about waking a napping toddler. I love the contrast of the dark built-ins and how it gives the room a more masculine feel without making the room feel dark.

Kitchen

This is easily my favorite room in the house, and definitely the heart of our home.  Meals, gatherings, homework, it all happens here. I knew for certain I wanted a white open kitchen with a huge island. It perfectly fits 4 stools so each of my kids has their spot. We paneled anything and everything to match the cabinets, and I think it creates a super clean look with the added benefit of no little fingerprints to clean constantly. 

I went with real marble for the backsplash which I kept in a classic subway tile.

I love a beautiful kitchen nook, and while we don’t eat at it yet, since half our family is still in boosters and high chairs, I look forward to meals moving to this space as the kids get older. I do love to work here with a cup of coffee with that afternoon sun during nap time.

Living Room

Moving past the foyer you enter the back of our home, which also faces Southeast, so we get tons of afternoon light. I love having an open floor plan, so I can be in the kitchen prepping meals but still be able to watch my kids play in the family room. Its a rather large space so furniture planning was key. These big white couches are so comfy and fill the room, and again the slipcovers protect us against spills and stains. This is my favorite rug ever, it provides beautiful texture but its soft on little feet and hides dirt well.  I kept the big pieces neutral hoping they last a long time, and brought in color and pattern with pillows and decor.

So I’m sharing my master bedroom with the caveat it’s not quite finished.  Since we’re pretty much the only people who ever see it, it definitely dropped down on the priority list. I’ve finally gotten around to making this space feel more in line with the rest of our home, starting with a new bed which is pictured and a new rug that sadly did not make it in time for this shoot.  We have plans for a settee at the end of the bed, as well as a new light fixture.

I love the way my master bath turned out.  I wanted to keep it classic and clean, and of course mostly white.

I splurged and went with real marble in the shower, with a classic subway tile wall and basketweave floor. I used the same Caesarstone counters that are in my kitchen, and paired them with polished nickel fixtures. I loved the idea of a big freestanding tub to soak in, that of course gets the most use by the kids right now…but someday!

This is another one of my favorite spaces.  My husband got his office space, so I like to think of this as my personal space to get away.  And while it doesn’t happen often, when I can sneak off and relax for a moment you bet I’m doing it here. I have a perfect view of our yard and pool, and I look forward to when I can sit in here and watch the kids play. And at night I have the most  perfect view of the sun setting!

Hello, my friends! How great it is to have you on Home Bunch!

Today’s Interior Design Ideas features only modern farmhouse interiors and I think you guys will really like to see all of the details found in this home.

Recently built by Reed Brothers Design & Build (you can follow them on instagram here), this modern farmhouse features white shingle exterior, grey shutters and interiors that are impressive but completely welcoming. 20 Gorgeous Drum Floor Lamp in the Bedroom

Today, we would be showing off a few bedroom designs with the best drum floor lamps there is in the market. They may seem simple and uninteresting on their own, but seeing them alongside the furniture and decoration choices that both the owner and the designer made for these bedrooms, I think you would really change your mind about this drum floor lamp designs.

This is one beautiful bedroom with the most gorgeous drum floor lamps I have ever seen. The color of the body of the lamp is just divine paired with black – and then it became a precious piece of furniture that anyone would be envious of!

It is common to use multiple pieces of lighting fixtures inside the house – especially in the bedroom and the living room. In this bedroom, we see a grey drum floor lamp just behind the wooden accent chair. The design of this floor lamp is sleek and modern – some of the things you’d want your decorations to be.

I am astounded with the body of this drum floor lamp! From this angle, I can’t truly say if this is really wood or some artificial material but I think it looks gorgeous and blends well with the entire bedroom.

Here is one type of a drum floor lamp that drops from a wire and it’s just too pretty! I like how it contrasts with the color of the bed and the walls and it sure looks like something you see in a magazine. This is one beautiful room to beat!

This is an example of a bedroom with multiple lighting fixtures – and if you may have noticed, all the lamps in here are drum lamps in different sizes and types! A drum ceiling fixture, a drum table lamp and drum floor lamp in a tripod! Totally ingenious and stunning!

This bedroom sure is an exemplification of beauty and glamour in its most vulnerable and simple ways. A platform bed, chairs for reading or hanging out and a large drum floor lamp to accentuate the space and notice like the bed lamps are like little children of the larger drum floor lamp.

This is one beautiful dream home project that you might have seen from Michael Abrams. The color palette used for this space is just so neutral – so calming that when you come after a long day at work, you know that you will be able to really rest and refresh yourself.

For a person living in the city, seeing a log house makes me think about a vacation home. The view of the sea outside makes me think that this in fact a vacation home that the owners go to during summers! I love the classic look of the high back chair and that of the drum floor lamp.

I think the only rustic feel to this space is the furniture used in it – but the entire thing sure shows elegance at its finest. The art piece behind the head board feels a bit Asian and it sure looks real pretty and interesting.

The windows of this bedroom are just wonderful. With a view of the outdoors like this one, I think it is just right that the designer and home owner decided to put large windows to this bedroom to be able to see this view every waking day.

11. Amagansett Beach Retreat

I totally love how homey this bedroom is! The bed looks so inviting and the fact that this room looks so clean – it makes me want to be in it more! Adding a black side table and a few items that contrast all the white makes this space rather stunning.

There are a lot of things that makes this bedroom really interesting and because of the plain walls, flooring and ceiling gives justice to this space because of all the prints you see on the carpet and pillows. Notice that the drum floor lamp is on the left side of the room and looking so pretty.

This is one beautiful space to sleep in. The space may seem small because of the fact that there are two single beds in it but this bedroom sure looks and feels like you are always vacationing! Totally loving this Hawaiian cottage feel!

This Montreal loft sure looks homey and comfortable.
